This 2001 Toyota bB Open Deck is one of the most unique variations of Toyota's first-generation bB, combining the boxy styling and compact dimensions of the standard bB with an open rear cargo area and drop-down tailgate. The result is a vehicle that falls somewhere between a compact wagon and a mini pickup, and it's a configuration Toyota never offered in the United States.
Showing 232,412 kilometers, this Open Deck is powered by Toyota's 1.5L 1NZ-FE inline-four paired with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The naturally aspirated 1NZ-FE produces approximately 108 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque, providing a simple and efficient drivetrain well suited to the bB's compact size.
The defining feature is, of course, the Open Deck itself. Rather than the enclosed cargo area found on a standard bB, Toyota created an open-air rear bed with a drop-down tailgate while retaining seating for five.
