This 2001 Toyota bB Open Deck takes the distinctive styling of the first-generation bB and turns it into one of Toyota's most unusual factory configurations. Rather than the enclosed rear cargo area of the standard bB, the Open Deck features an open rear bed and drop-down tailgate while retaining seating for five.
Showing 148,000 kilometers, this Open Deck is powered by Toyota's 1.5L 1NZ-FE inline-four paired with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The naturally aspirated 1NZ-FE produces approximately 108 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque, giving the bB a simple and efficient drivetrain in a compact package.
The Open Deck is what really separates this model from the standard bB. Toyota combined the practicality of a compact wagon with the utility of a small pickup, creating a unique factory body style that was never offered in the United States. The open cargo area and drop-down tailgate give it added versatility while maintaining the compact dimensions and unmistakable styling of the original bB.
Finished in White (068), this example also appears to have several aftermarket additions, including wheels, an upgraded touchscreen head unit, and additional instrumentation.
